A barista at the office: party, opening or permanent coffee bar
By Daniël MartinaPublished 2 min read
In short
A barista at the office can come once, for a party or client day, or on set days. If there is already a professional espresso machine in your coffee corner, you book me directly. Decide beforehand who pays for the drinks and when the rush comes.
Once or regularly
Once suits an opening, a client day, a staff party or a drinks reception. Regular work suits an office that wants a coffee bar every week, or every day. For regular work, choose "Office or regular shifts" in the form.
At a permanent coffee bar I think along about the menu, the ordering flow and the things that can be better every day. That is work you cannot do on a one-off job.
Is there already a machine?
If your office has a coffee corner with a professional espresso machine with a steam wand, I can work with it and you book me directly. If it is a bean-to-cup machine, or there is nothing, a different setup is needed. That is explained in Booking a barista with or without a machine.
Who pays for the drinks?
This decides how the bar runs. If the company pays, there is no checkout and it goes faster. If people pay themselves, every order takes extra time and a second person at the till is useful. Decide this before you fix the menu.
When it gets busy
In an office the crowd comes at set moments: the start of the day, after lunch and after a meeting. At a party or client day there is usually one peak, straight after arrival. Say in your request which pattern you expect, so the proposal can respond to it.
What you arrange internally
- a fixed place for the bar, with power and water nearby
- someone who welcomes the barista and shows the way
- whether outside guests may join in too
- whether there is a fixed menu or the team can help decide
Offices where I work
I work at office locations, including Vitam and ifood.
Frequently asked questions
Can a barista come to the office every week?
Yes. Choose "Office or regular shifts" in the form and give the days and times you have in mind.
Does my office need an espresso machine?
A professional espresso machine with a steam wand is needed for good milk drinks. If there is none, I work as a partner of Barista Company, who provide the machine.
How many people is this suitable for?
Give the number of colleagues and any visitors in your request. The proposal will address it.
